Exo Terra Sun Glo Halogen Spot Daylight Lamp
Halogen bulbs are actually an advanced version of bulb technology. One of the main reasons that shortens the life of the bulbs is the evaporation of the tungsten inside the bulb. By adding a tiny amount of halogen gas (methyl bromide) to the interior of the bulb, the tungsten is removed from the glass coating by a chemical reaction and restores itself to the filament. This extends the life of the bulb. The higher temperatures of halogen lighting contribute to a whiter light, higher light output and greater efficiency.
